Remediation and Excavation Activities

Habitat Area 2

(work notice)

Remediation and restoration of two lagoons knows as the "Habitat Area 2" began in September 2018, and continued through January 2019. Final Habitat Area 2 work resumed September 2019, and all construction was completed by January 31, 2020. The Habitat Area 2 fact sheet provides information and resources on the work being completed. The work involved the excavation and removal of approximately 44,500 cubic yards of soil and sediment from the lagoons, adjacent berms, and the surrounding area. The disturbed areas will be restored with clean soil, and replanted with native vegetation.

More details on the project are available at: http://campusbayforward.com/

Lot 1, Lot 2, and Upland Portion of Lot 3

A draft Feasibility Study and Removal Action Plan (FS/RAP) to address remediation planned in Lot 1, Lot 2, and Upland Portion of Lot 3 (currently scheduled for implementation in 2020) was published on July 8, 2018. The public comment period for the Lot 1, Lot 2, and Upland portion of Lot 3 was extended to September 10, 2018. A Public Meeting was held at the Richmond Field Station on July 26th, 2018.
