Marsh Monitoring Well Installation Starts January 28

January 26, 2015

Drilling contractors working for UC Berkeley will install four monitoring wells along the edge of Western Stege Marsh beginning January 28, 2015. Well development and follow-up sampling will be completed in approximately a week.

The four additional monitoring well installations are the last of four field activities completed as part of the Field Sampling Plan Phase 4 approved by DTSC in October 2014. The wells are being installed to contribute to characterization of the groundwater in the Eastern Transition Area in the vicinity of the Biologically Active Permeable Barrier.

No traffic disruptions are expected due to this work along the connector trail from Gate 4 to the Bay Trail.
