November 2, 2021

Under the oversight of the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), the University of California, Berkeley’s environmental consultants will be conducting an environmental investigation within the Western Transition Area (WTA) at RFS, just south of Building 128. The investigation involves sampling for polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and defining the lateral extent of a dark petroleum layer identified during a previous investigation.

A truck-mounted drill rig will be present along with 1-2 staff from the driller and 2-3 staff from the environmental consultant.

Work will begin November 1, 2021 and will take approximately five days.  All work will be completed during normal business hours on weekdays (7:00 AM to 6:00 PM).
